Primary care physicians possess unique attitudes, skills, and knowledge which qualify them to provide continuing and comprehensive medical care, health maintenance and preventive services to each member of the family regardless of sex, age, or type of problem, be it biological, behavioral, or social. These specialists, because of their background and interactions with the family, are best qualified to serve as each patient’s advocate in all health-related matters, including the appropriate use of consultants, health services, and community resources.
Primary care includes health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a variety of health care settings (e.g., office, inpatient, critical care, long-term care, home care, day care, etc.). You care will be performed and managed by a personal physician often collaborating with other health professionals, and utilizing consultation or referral as appropriate.
We take our responsibility seriously and advocate for our patients in the health care system to accomplish cost-effective care by coordination of health care services. We view ourselves as partners in our patient’s healthcare.
